ESOMAT 2024 – Lecco, Italy
Fourth year PhD student Abdelrahman Elsayed had the privilege of presenting his research “Functionally Graded Shape Memory Alloys Through Additive Manufacturing” at ESOMAT 2024 in Leco, Italy. The event was filled with innovating research and thought-provoking discussion in the picturesque setting of Lake Como. The research focused on NiTi-based shape memory alloys fabricated in additive manufacturing with an emphasis on multi-step phase transformation, shape memory effect, and superelasticity, locally controlled composition due to functional grading, and the influence of thermal history on transformation behavior.
